My homily today is very simple; because the readings for mass are very simple. John says, “Whoever is without love does not know God, for God is love.”
I have narrated the story I am going to tell us many time, and I would like to narrate it again. A few years back when Pope Francis visited the United states, he shared this story at the world gathering of families in Philadelphia. It was the story of this little boy who asked the Pope, “What did God do before he created the world? Pope Francis said that he was a little flummoxed with the question. After some thought, the Pope replied, “Before God created the world, God loved. Because, God is love.”
This video of Pope Francis and yet another child has gone viral. I thought I would share this video with you. It needs no commentary. Neither does it need three practical implications!
